- Summary
- Shows two examples of communities that are having some success in solving the problem of hate crimes. In South Carolina after the burning of Afro-American churchs, law enforcement officials arrested members of the Ku Klux Klan and one black church filed a lawsuit against the KKK winning a $38 million judgment against the Klan from a racially mixed jury. The second case spotlights a pioneering high school class on tolerance developed by teacher Joe Moros that has changed the social climate at San Clemente High School in California where tensions among whites, Latinos, blacks and Asian-Americans led to brutal violence and killing in the 1990s
