- Richard Milhous Nixon was born on January 9, 1913, in Yorba Linda, California. On April 3, 1937, Mr. Nixon, while at Duke Law school in Durham, North Carolina applied for a Special Agent position with the FBI. His appointment to that position was cancelled on August 15, 1937. As Vice President, he addressed the graduation of the 53rd Session of the FBI National Academy class in 1954
