- Summary
- Each month for this past year, twelve leading economists have been meeting at the London School of Economics (LSE) to try to get to the heart of what is wrong with today's global financial system. This report synthesizes this collective, collaborative knowledge. This report is an in-depth, important work of economic analysis. "A key theme is that the scale of financial asset creation has been grossly excessive and far beyond the needs of the real economy--which is the ultimate touchstone of a healthy financial system." One of the issues that INET is deeply concerned about is how to rethink the way finance could work better in the modern economy. We are attempting to create a discussion about the shape of a new paradigm of economic thinking, one that is informed by some of these top economists, but also evolves from democratic input as well
