  • Henry Peek's Prize Essay Competition
  • Notice. We, the undersigned referees, have awarded the first prize of thirty guineas to Herbert T. Round; the second prize of twenty guineas to George Wreford; and the third prize of ten tuineas to W.H. Hazard. We have also given certificates of merit to the following gentlemen (alphabetical order): --Walter Miles, James Rigby Smith, and James White. The prize money has been duly distributed: and at Henry Peek's request, each certificate of merit was supplemented with a cheque for five guineas. The proceeds of the sale of the reprint of newspaper correspondence has been paid over to the Fund of the Solicitors' Benevolent Association. Unsuccessful papers (sealed up, with motto indorsed) will be returned on application to Joseph Causton & Sons, Eastcheap, E.C.--Francis K. Munton, Robert Everett. London, 30th December, 1878
